Budget manager touts benefits of buying preowned vehicle

As general manager of Budget Car Sales, Tom Mallo, whose family has been in the automotive business for more than 30 years, believes that buying a preowned vehicle is the best car deal in many cases.

“Our family started with Budget in the late 1970s. I have been around anything with wheels since I was old enough to walk,” the Akron, Ohio, native said.

With the Budget philosophy, a preowned vehicle makes sense, said Mallo, whose family has lived in Las Vegas for the past 25 years.

“The preowned vehicle is the smart buy. We have cars with as little as 5,000 miles,” he said . “The vehicle has already been depreciated and it makes much better sense for several reasons and, in fact, we have a 2012 Fiat 500 Lounge convertible with 1,000 miles on it.”

The company’s Buy Smart Program includes checks to ensure quality and safety.

“Each vehicle is sold with a 90-day or 3,000-mile limited warranty,” Mallo said. “That is provided at no charge and includes a road-tested 125-point vehicle inspection. In addition, there is a one-year membership for Cross Country Motor Club, a roadside assistance program that covers everything from jump-starting a battery to a 75-mile tow, to name a few benefits.

“We also provide a five-day, 350-mile exchange policy, which ensures that our customer will be happy. If the customer isn’t happy with the car, we will exchange them into another vehicle at equal or lesser value than the one they originally purchased.”

The Budget Car Sales dealership also includes a full service department.
