The acoustic guitar concert is set to feature Hunter Hayes, Justin Moore, Charles Kelley, Kip Moore and Kelsea Ballerini. Conducted by nationally known trainer Don Meyer, the event will teach participants how to facilitate sibshops, geared toward young brothers and sisters of children with developmental concerns. Wisdom flow yoga: Instructor Maria C. Wisdom flow is rooted in Vinyasa yoga and has an emphasis on moving the body’s core, and participants are set to learn the foundation and principles of proper body alignment. Call for musicians: The nonprofit Las Vegas Young Artists Orchestra is seeking applications for its new Academy Orchestra program for youths 15 or younger who show significant potential. The free program will welcome up to 50 new students who will work alongside internationally recognized guest artists and perform regularly throughout the year. The application deadline is April 8. Heritage Parade & Festival: The free city of Henderson event is slated for April 23 in the Water Street District, kicking off with a Mayor & Council Breakfast at 9 a.m., followed by a parade at 10 a.m. along Water Street from Ocean Avenue to Victory Road. Festival activities are planned from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and live entertainment is scheduled to start at noon at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water St. Food vendors also are planned. The event aims to celebrate the city’s history and its incorporation, which took place April 16, 1953. Fees for parade entries are $50 for the general public and $25 per nonprofit. Applications are available at cityofhenderson.com and are due March 31. Entries must reflect this year’s theme, My Henderson, for a chance to win prizes. School groups, community organizations, businesses and individuals are encouraged to participate. Entries will be judged on incorporation of the theme, creativity and overall appeal. Rose Garden: Forty-four varieties of roses can be viewed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension’s Southern Area Master Gardener’s Rose Garden, 8050 Paradise Road. Rose varieties include hybrid teas, floribundas, shrubs, rugosas, damasks, noisettes and miniatures. The beds have engraved signage bearing the names of the roses, the varieties and the year of market introduction. The garden recently received a certificate of achievement in the Small Garden class during the national Sunshine ‘n Roses Pacific Southwest District’s annual convention. The district spans Southern California, Arizona, parts of Nevada, New Mexico and West Texas. The garden is maintained by Master Gardeners and members of the South Valley Rose Society. Clark County Fair & Rodeo: The annual Clark County Fair & Rodeo is set from 2 to 11 p.m. April 6, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. April 7, 10 a.m. to midnight, April 8 and 9 and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. April 10 at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Logandale, 1301 Whipple Ave. Presale discount admission is $8, and a presale pass for all five days is $24. Extreme Thing Sports & Music Festival: The annual event, presented by Clark County Parks & Recreation, is set from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. April 2 at Desert Breeze Park, 8275 Spring Mountain Road at Durango Drive. A new layout is planned for 2016, with five concert stages, the Vegas AmJam (an amateur skate and BMX competition), vendor village and food area. Touch-A-Truck: Family to Family’s 12th annual event is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 2 in the northwest parking lot at the Orleans Arena, 4500 W. Tropicana Ave. Dozens of big rigs, including fire engines, ambulances, police SWAT vehicles, construction and roadwork equipment, will be available for youths to explore. Teen Event: Be a SHERO plans to host the Spring Into Success Teen Expo from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 2 at Tivoli Village, 302 S. Rampart Blvd. A dance party workout with David Barton Gym is planned, along with the Cinderella Closet starting at 10 a.m. and a teen job fair component for those ages 16 to 19. Cadillac Through the Years: The 11th annual event, sponsored by the Cadillac & LaSalle Club of Las Vegas and Findlay Cadillac, 993 Auto Show Drive, is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 10 on Main Street at The District at Green Valley Ranch, 2240 Village Walk Drive. Eighty-eight cars representing 114 years of Cadillac’s history are set to be on display, with cars dating from 1902 to present.
