Jess Garcia sells first Las Vegas home for Berkshire Hathaway

Last week, Berkshire Hathaway officially entered the Las Vegas real estate market when one of Nevada’s oldest and largest firms was welcomed as a new partner.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Nevada Properties, formerly Prudential Americana Group, unveiled its new branding to its 1,200 local sales executives with a visit from the parent company’s president, Earl Lee.

Prudential Real Estate joined Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices last year. Americana Holdings, which includes operations in Nevada and Arizona, is the third largest franchise in Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices’ global organization. Americana Holdings is based in Henderson and owned by CEO Mark Stark.

“We believe real estate consumers in greater Las Vegas and Phoenix will look for the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices yard sign as a symbol of sound guidance and quality service,” said Gordon Miles, president. “Top agents looking for a brand that is fresh, intelligent and respected should look no farther than this one.”

Among the early successes was the first home sold under the Berkshire Hathaway moniker in Southern Nevada. Real estate sales executive Jess Garcia said he listed a property at midnight on the day of the transition…and sold it at 12:01 a.m. Garcia said it was a perfect opportunity to start his business’ new branding.

“I had been showing homes to an out of state client when I heard from a previous client that they were considering selling their home,” he said.

Among Garcia’s specialties is helping families relocate to Southern Nevada.

“I showed the home to the out-of-state clients that day and they wanted to buy it. So I listed the home that evening, and sold it right away. Both clients were very pleased, and especially happy to be among the first to work with Berkshire Hathaway in Nevada.”

Garcia has worked in real estate for 20 years, starting his career in Washington. He joined the Nevada firm in 2002 and has received multiple awards for his work in relocation and his commitment to its core values.

“Real estate is my passion and it is all I do,” Garcia said. “I’m not happy until my clients are happy.”

Both Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Nevada Properties and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Arizona Properties are leaders in their respective markets with 21 offices and nearly 2,000 agents combined. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices now accounts for nearly 28,000 agents and 750 offices in 37 states.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices in early 2014 was named Real Estate Agency Brand of the Year by consumers in the 26th annual Harris Poll EquiTrend study of the largest real estate networks.
