MOVIES: Big-screen “Monday Night Football” kicks off at Cannery multiplex
August 26, 2009 - 11:33 am
OK, so it's not a movie — but it is a movie theater. Galaxy Theatres' Cannery multiplex, to be specific, which will present "Monday Night Football" games in high definition on a 60-foot-wide screen in the North Las Vegas theater.
The free "Monday Night Football" parties kick off at 4 p.m. Sept. 14 with back-to-back games featuring the Buffalo Bills vs. the New England Patriots, followed by the San Diego Chargers vs. the Oakland Raiders.
Free game broadcasts are open to those 21 and older; doors open about an hour prior to game time.
"We are excited to be bringing 'Monday Night Football' back to our theaters again this season," says Galaxy president Rafe Cohen. "The Monday night parties were a huge success last year." Galaxy's ability to broadcast the games in high-definition on a 60-foot-wide screen "really puts the fans in the football stadium," Cohen says, "but with better views and far more comfortable seats — at a fraction of the price."
The Galaxy's Cannery multiplex is at 2121 E. Craig Road, North Las Vegas; more information is available at www.galaxytheatres.com.
