New radio station may hold clue to DiCiero’s next move
January 13, 2015 - 8:59 pm
A new radio station is airing a teaser proclaiming it will be “making its mark in Las Vegas with the best variety of the 90’s, 2k and today.”
Some are taking that as a big hint that Mark DiCiero will soon be landing at Beasley Broadcast’s Star 107.9, KGVS-FB. Formerly known as “Bob-FM,” it was flipped to Star at 3 p.m. Monday.
DiCiero’s next stop has stirred speculation since his departure last month from the highly successful “Mark and Mercedes in the Morning” show on CBS-owned KMXB-FM 94.1.
DiCiero and Mercedes Martinez had teamed up for nearly 18 years on “The Mix.” Martinez now helms the “Mercedes and J.C.” show, with co-host J.C. Fernandez, the longtime producer. They started Jan. 5.
It is believed DiCiero had a six-month non-compete clause at KMXB.
DiCiero did not respond to a request for comment by deadline.
“Bob” was launched in 2011.
