YOUR WEEKEND: Free admission offered at Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs

With weather forecasts in the 80s this Saturday, it just might be a great time to head out to Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs, located at 9200 Tule Springs Road.
The city of Las Vegas is celebrating National Trails Day 2009 with free admission to the park from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on June 6 for those who walk, ride a bicycle or ride a horse into the park. Parking restrictions and admission fees still apply to all vehicles.
Las Vegas boasts several trails and park pathways. The Cedar Drainage Trail runs 1.5 miles along the Cedar drainage channel from Pecos Road to the Las Vegas Wash between Bonanza Road and Stewart Avenue. Also, the Gilmore Cliff Shadows Trailhead is located on the north side of Alexander Road to the west of the Las Vegas Beltway and west of Cliff Shadows Parkway.
Parks with trails in Las Vegas include Kellogg-Zaher Sports Complex, 7901 W. Washington Ave.; Bruce Trent Park, 8851 Vegas Drive; Children's Memorial Park, 6601 W. Gowan Road; AnSan Sister City Park, 7801 Ducharme Ave.; Sunny Springs Park, 7620 Golden Talon Ave.; and Bucksin Cliff Shadows Park at Cheyenne Avenue and Cliff Shadows Parkway.
