Lake Las Las Vegas will celebrate Labor Day with Chef Paul’s Smokin’ Barbecue at Casino MonteLago’s Tenuta Patio from noon to 9 p.m. Sept. 5 and 6 and from noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 7. Barbecue is $16 per person and $8 for children younger than 12. Cash only. Call 939-8888 for more information.

Sonrisa Grill Margarita Festival

Do you consider yourself a master at margaritas? If so, now is your chance to use your recipe to net some cash, $1,000 to be exact.

Sonrisa Grill in MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas, 30 Via Brianza, No. 100, will celebrate its first Margarita Festival from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 6. Guests will have the chance to taste up to 20 different margaritas for $20. Guests also will be given the opportunity to vote for their favorite margarita. The first-place recipe will take home $1,000.

Live music will be provided by A Boy Named Sioux, and there also will be a taqueria bar and Jose Cuervo girls on hand.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Fremont Street Experience

Fremont Street Experience will conclude the ìSummer of ’69: Vegas or Bustî events with an End of Summer, What a Bummer Bash Labor Day weekend. The bash will celebrate Fremont Street Experience’s summer long entertainment and event series highlighting the historic year in U.S. history. M Resort Bash

M Resort will celebrate Labor Day at Villaggio Del Sole Entertainment Piazza from 3 to 8 p.m. Sept. 6, with fireworks at 8 p.m.. Admission is free. Food items start at $2. Tickets will be sold at the event for food and drink items. The event will feature live musical performances by Loveshack from 3 to 5:30 p.m. and Nitro from 5:30 to 8 p.m.; a fresh lemonade stand and watermelon-eating contests for kids; feast of food favorites including south of the border fare, American classics, barbecue, burgers and hot dogs, cotton candy, gelatos, shaved ice and M’s homemade pastries; free activities for the kids including face painting, airbrushed tattoos and balloon art; and 32 Draft Bar and Hostile Grape outdoor booths will offer beer and wine specials. The Villaggio Del Sole pool bars will also be open for specialty drinks and cocktails.
